My name is Sebastian Oey and I will be taking over as secretary-General while Jenny Tabermann is taking a leave of absence to study. I graduated from Arcada spring 2015 with a BBA specializing in marketing. I am looking forward to new interesting challenges and experiences in HR-related topics and a deeper understanding of higher education politics.
I want to be a part of the work done for students’ opportunities to develop themselves through the Student Union and secure their rights. I had an incredible time studying and want to make sure other have the same rights and opportunities as I had.
I am genuinely interested in defending student’s rights and will do my best to get on top of educational policy. Together with the Board we will make sure that things are dealt with, and I am happy to help with any content knowledge I have. I don’t believe in hierarchies, so my doors are always open if there is anything anyone wants to talk about, just try to keep it to working hours ;).
I have been active in a variety of student organizations and associations such as ASK (International affairs), HanSe SF (marketing) and Nylands Nation (a variety of responsibilities).
Sports has always been a part of my life and I find it to be the best way to relax. I have also represented Finland since 2001 and finished my international judo career in 2013 in Coimbra where the Students’ European Championships in judo were organized.
